December 2008

HollowbodyA re-emerging interplanetary cosmic alignment!

Syl was inspired to do a digital remake of her astroscape watercolor picture, which after many eons has at last been completed and posted in the Artwork Section, in a new category for Digital art.

Fortuitous coincidences abound, and one resulted in Syl finally getting to a music store for the first time in ages. Goodbye bank account, hello cool new gear. Long-awaited, long yearned-for new gear, badly-needed and at last acquired. Wonderous, gorgeous new gear ... ok you get the idea. See picture at right.

Joy to the World!

November 2008

Sylvia Watercolor Self-PortraitAn Art section has been added, starting off with some watercolors from Sylvia's brief watercolor phase. Great fun, but sheesh! that watercolor paper ain't cheap! That one at right is a self-portrait, from the not-so-brief short hair phase. Go to the Artwork Section ...

October 2008

The Bandmates page got re-kombobulated, and after arduous labors a History with boatloads of photos has been added. All this bundled up in a spiffy new Music Section.

September 2008

Welcome to a newly-widened site - about 200 pixels wider in fact. And if you want a nifty new browser to view it in, try out the fast and clean Google Chrome. Feel weird plugging a product, even a free one, but they won me over with this one.

And there's a bit more to look at too - a new Bandmates page has been added to highlight the many musicians and others who worked with Sylvia over the years, and some photos have been tweaked, moved, and added here and there.

August 2008

Holy ma-loly! Syl actually went to a public place with real people in it. Went to the "Punk Rock BBQ" at the Liquid Kitty, which this time featured the Chuck Dukowski Sextet, Backbiter, the Urinals, and the Raw Power Rangers, which is a Stooges tribute band consisting of Insect Surfers members. The groundhog has ventured from its burrow and noticed the change in the seasons - in the music scene that is. All kinds of bands from back in the day have regrouped and are playing again.

Well, not really ... Working on websites, happened to have my guitar along, my friend took this photo with his cellphone.

July 2008

The long-lost "Tower of Ashes" video was unexpectedly dug up from the depths, digitized, and posted on You Tube by the also long-lost Barnster! (that's Barney, bass player extraordinaire, and these days also a Dad). Syl has still not been able to bear watching either of the two vids posted there, but will post a link nonetheless:

May 2008

More photos added to the Photos page, little bit by little bit.

April 2008

Not much new on this site for April. Tax time, and I've learned the hard way that the IRS just does not appreciate a roving free spirit. That and, oh right, that extra $300 thing. Added some photos.

March 2008

Photos page updated: Syl is coming out of her sHell, and
is no longer too sHy to have photos be clickable/enlargeable/viewable.

A new Discography Page has been added!

So I get this little idea, why don't I add a Discography Page? Wouldn't that be nice. I'll just go whip up a quick little page right now.

Sheesh, there's a lot more there than I realized. Hours later, and I'm still slogging through links to obscure recordings made at long-closed studios for tiny, long-defunct labels. Which might sound depressing but actually was not; some wistful nostalgia moments to be sure, but some sweet memories too and nice surprises, such as discovering that The Last has rebuilt their website, their band, and have upcoming shows planned, yay.

And so, here is the new page/section:

Discography Page

The Links Page has been updated too by the way.
